Membership

Our Membership Categories:

Family, Adult, Student, Junior, Guardian/Carer, Social, Honorary and Group.

The membership year is from 1st March to 28th (29th) February. Application for membership can be taken out all year round, to apply, fill out the application form below and the Membership Secretary shall be in contact with you.

If you are interested in joining the club for paddleboarding/kayaking, you will be required to take out a full sailing membership. Use the website contact form if you would like to discuss in more detail the membership category you are interested in or would to have a tour of the facilities and to hopefully meet some of our members! ESC is a fully inclusive and accessible club with all ages and abilities welcome.

 

Adult Member

Full use of all the Club facilities and boats subject to committee guidelines. Allowed to sail and keep three dinghies of a type approved by the committee at the club.

 

Family Member

Includes one or two co-habiting adults and all the children within their guardianship under the age of eighteen or in full time education who shall have the full use of all the Club facilities and boats subject to committee guidelines. A family membership allows a family to keep and sail more than three dinghies of a type at the club following agreement of the committee.

 

Student Member

Member is a person from the age of 18 who is in full time education or training. A Student member shall have the full use of all the Club facilities and boats subject to committee guidelines. Student members can keep one boat at the club.

 

Junior Member

At the date of election is under eighteen. A Junior member shall have the full use of all the Club facilities and boats subject to committee guidelines. A junior member under the age of 16 is to be accompanied by a guardian/carer or other appropriately experienced adult if they are sailing unless on a recognised club course.

 

Guardian/Carer Member

Membership may be issued in conjunction with a Junior membership of a person under 16 years of age. This is because junior members under 16 are expected to be accompanied by a guardian/carer or other appropriately experienced adult if they are sailing unless on a recognised club course. A guardian carer would have all the rights of a normal member for land based but not water based activities and do not receive voting rights. 

 

Social Member

A non sailing member who has full use of all the Club facilities with the exception of access to boats or any waterborne activities.

 

Temporary Member

Is applicable to short term group memberships for visiting parties. Terms and Conditions laid down by the committee and documented on an individual basis which will include supervision by a nominated member.

 

Group Member

Group Membership covers organisations or groups of individuals and shall have Terms and Conditions laid down by the committee and documented on an individual basis. Please contact us if you'd like further infomation or would like to discuss group membership.

 

Honorary Member

Membership may be conferred at a general meeting on the recommendation of the committee. Honorary members shall have the full use of all the Club facilities and boats and are allowed to sail and keep three dinghies of a class of a type approved by the committee.
