The Club is an affiliated member of the RYA and can only offer the following courses to club members (and members of RYA Affiliated Clubs)

The courses are 2 days 9:00 – 5:00pm unless otherwise stated and includes the logbook and certificate. The cost of the courses and the Terms & Conditions are on the Course Application Form which is available from the membership secretary.

The courses are taught with a maximum Student / instructor ratios designated by the RYA which are:-

Sailing Single hander 6:1, Crewed Dinghies 3:1

Windsurfing 6:1

Power Level 1 & 2, 3:1, Safety Boat 6:1

RYA First Aid 12:1

The club provides

Classroom, heated changing rooms & showers

Experienced Instructors

Single and double handed dinghies and power boats are provided by the club for the courses

The club also has a galley, snacks and drinks are available 

 

What to bring

Warm clothing will make your time on the water more comfortable and ultimately more enjoyable. 

Hat

Neoprene boots/old trainers

Waterproof Clothing

Towel

Windproof layers

Sailing gloves (or any gloves)

Wetsuit / drysuit (if you have one)

Sunglasses Sunscreen

No Jeans

Change of clothes

Paper and pen

Passport photo (for Power Boat Level 2)

 

You don’t need expensive equipment to learn and sailing clothing can be bought quite inexpensively from Decathlon / sailing websites.

 

 

Club fleet available to members

4 Laser Pico's (1-3 people, beginner)

2 Laser Bahia's (2-4 people, beginner-advanced)

1 RS Topaz (1 person, beginner)

6 Optimists (1-2 children, beginner)

2 Mirrors (1-2 people, beginner)

4 GP's (2- 4 people, beginner-advanced)

2 Laser 1's (1 person, intermediate-advanced)

The club fleet is free to be used by members, however we do encourage new sailors to seek guidance when rigging the two-man boats as the rigging system differs slightly from single handed boats.
